I. How to Become a Member
   
1. Respond to the Invitation.
Such a person will be placed on probation until instructions are received. After an examination, that person can be received into full membership.
     
2. On Profession of Faith.
In order to do so, one must have been baptized, professed faith in Jesus Christ and assumed the vows of the African Methodist Episcopal Church.
     
3. Transfer.
Any member moving from one place to another may have his or her membership transferred by requesting a letter of transfer from the church in which he or she participates. If the person is not coming from another A.M.E. church, they will be placed on trial for three months. Afterwards, the new member must take the vows of membership in the A.M.E. church.
     
4. Restoration.
Members who move from one place to another, but do not join the church within 12 months, may be restored to full membership if recommended by two members in good and regular standing. Without such a recommendation, they mest be placed on probation
   
5. Affiliated Membership.
Members of the A.M.E. church residing in a community for only a temporary period may enroll as an affiliated member of any A.M.E. church in their vicinity.
   
II. Termination of Membership
   
1. Withdrawal.
If a person wishes to withdraw their membership, a letter must be written to the Pastor stating the desire to withdraw. The Pastor will write a letter of withdrawal and report this action the the official Board.
   
2. Expulsion.
An individual who has been a non-resident member for three consecutive years will be listed as having Left Without Certificate.
   
3. Death.
   
III. Duties of Membership
   
1. Attend worship services regularly.
   
2. Participate in the activities of the church.
   
3. Give to the financial support of the church.
   
4. Seek after and persuade others to join the church. We are saved to save others.
   
5. Represent the church in every daily activity.
